The written word has the power to excite, engage and inspire an audience. Whether you are trying to convey facts and figures, sell a product or simply tell a good story, how you communicate determines how well your message is received. Even the smallest error in grammar, spelling or punctuation can undermine your credibility and the recognition your work deserves.
About
Rebecca has worked as a professional proofreader, copy editor and project manager for twelve years, with specialist expertise in the arts, humanities and academic research.
After graduating with a BA (Hons) in English Literature and History of Art from Goldsmiths, University of London, Rebecca spent several years working with some of London’s leading arts institutions. This experience gave her a strong understanding of the editorial, research and production processes involved in bringing complex and creative work to publication.
In 2014, Rebecca combined this experience with her longstanding passion for language, beginning her career as a professional proofreader and copy editor.
Since then, she has worked with a diverse range of clients on projects including academic publications, theses, educational materials, research reports, magazines, manuscripts, children’s books, poetry collections and company reports.
She brings a meticulous eye for detail, a strong understanding of context and a commitment to ensuring that every piece of work is clear, accurate and engaging.
While AI can be a useful tool, it cannot replace the insight, judgement and human understanding that an experienced proofreader brings to every piece of work. Rebecca’s approach is thoughtful and tailored, recognising not only what is technically correct, but what works best for the writer, the subject and the intended audience.
Rebecca is based just outside Cambridge and works with clients both locally and further afield.
